I have taught philosophy for almost 35 years, covering several areas of philosophy, including applied ethics, normative ethics, metaethics, philosophy of economics and social sciences, game theory and decision theory, aesthetics, political philosophy, history of modern philosophy (Descartes), history of moral philosophy (Mill, Sidgwick, Moore, Ross, Ewing, and Broad), philosophy of religion, metaphysics, epistemology, personal identity, freedom and responsibility, philosophy of mind, and ancient philosophy (Aristotle’s ethics). I have taught at all levels: first-year, second-year, third-year undergraduate, B. Phil, M. Phil, Master’s, and PhD.
For most of these courses, I have had full responsibility for planning course, developing reading lists, conducting seminars, tutorials and supervisions as well as examining and assessment. I have taught at the universities of Uppsala, Cambridge, Oxford, and Stockholm. This has given me a broad experience of different teaching situations, spanning from lecturing for large classes (around 300 students) and smaller classes (around 10 students) to one-on-one tutoring, and of teaching students from a broad spectrum of intellectual interests and cultural backgrounds.
I also have extensive experience supervising undergraduate, B.Phil, M.Phil, and master theses. I have supervised 8 PhD students to completion. I am currently supervising three PhD-students.
